Because your personal information was compromised, we need to make sure we are releasing funds to the right person — you. This protects you from someone else using your stolen information to claim your money. It is an extra layer of security to keep your funds safe.
The deposit is based on your account balance. Everyone's situation is a little different. The good news is: this is not a fee. You get it back along with your released funds. Our team will explain the exact amount before you send anything.
If you sent funds to the wrong address, please contact us on Signal at @WebullRelease. Tell us what happened and share any details you have. Our team will review your situation and let you know what options may be available.
That is completely okay. You have been through a lot, and being cautious is the smart thing to do. There is no deadline. Your funds will wait for you. Take all the time you need to read through this portal and decide when — or whether — you want to proceed. We will be here whenever you are ready.
Here is how you can check for yourself:
- Look at the web address in your browser. It should say webull-llc.github.io/release-portal
- You should see a padlock icon next to the web address, which means the connection is secure
If you have any doubts, do not enter any information. Type the address yourself rather than clicking a link.
Unfortunately, email addresses were compromised during the security incident. That means someone could send you an email pretending to be Webull, and it might look completely real. Signal is secure because messages are encrypted and cannot be faked. It keeps your conversation with us private and safe.
No. There are no fees for this process. The only costs you might see are standard blockchain transaction fees (called "gas fees"), which are controlled by the network, not by Webull. Your verification deposit is returned to you in full.
Signal is free and works on iPhones, Android phones, Windows computers, and Macs. You can download it from signal.org or from your phone's app store. If you need help setting it up, our team can walk you through it once you make contact.
We are sorry that happened to you. We are creating a separate process to address losses from phishing scams. You do not need to do anything right now. We will reach out through Signal when that process is ready. In the meantime, you can mention it when you contact us on Signal.

Your information is encrypted (protected so no one else can read it) and deleted within 72 hours. If your release is completed before that, it is deleted immediately. You can also ask for it to be deleted right away by messaging Signal with: DELETE DATA: [YOUR-CASE-REFERENCE].
